Things You’ll Need
Before proceeding, there are a few things you’re going to need in order to get along properly with this guide:

  • Detergent
  • Cotton swabs
  • Paper towel
  • Water
  • Window cleaner
  • A knife without the sharp tip

 Step 1

Use just a bit of warm water to wet a cotton rug. In the process, focus as much as you can on wetting the sides of the suction cup as much as you can. This will make it easier to get air to drive itself into the suction pad, which is the primary objective of this guide. Once this is achieved, the rest should be relatively simple.

Step 2

Next, grab the cotton swabs and dab a little dish soap on the suction cups, this time focusing more on the area in between the mirror and the suction cup (the opening between them). Once again, if you weren’t already, try and get air to enter the suction cup.

Step 3

To loosen the suction cup even further, use just a small enough amount of the dish soap or detergent you picked out on the sides of the suction cups.

Step 4

Next, gently slip the butter knife under the suction cup and gently lift it off of the glass surface. Remember to use just a small amount of pressure suction cups to avoid damaging the suction cup.

Step 5

Slowly slide the knife under the suction cup and once again gently, lift it from the glass surface. At this point, your suction cup should be free. Move onto the next suction cup.

Step 6

The last step is to wipe off the remaining traces of dish soap or water from surface of the glass using the window cleaner and dry it off with a paper towel to restore the window to its original pristine condition.
